Professional Teaching Fellow – Data Science

About the role
The Department of Statistics at the University of Auckland is seeking a Professional Teaching Fellow in Data Science. This full‑time permanent position will involve developing and delivering high‑quality undergraduate and postgraduate statistics courses with a strong emphasis on data science.
Key responsibilities
- Design, organise and teach large‑scale first‑year statistics courses.
- Deliver in‑person short courses on Data Science at partner universities in China.
- Innovate teaching methods and incorporate new technologies to enhance student engagement.
- Prepare and maintain up‑to‑date course materials and assessments.
Required profile
- PhD (awarded or expected soon) in Statistics or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated knowledge of postgraduate‑level statistics.
- Proven track record in teaching applied statistics and data‑science related topics.
Required skills
- R programming language.
