Production Supervisor

About the role

The Production Supervisor leads frontline operations at Graymont's Otorohanga & Te Kuiti plants, ensuring safe, efficient and cost‑effective production and dispatch of quicklime and hydrate products. The role combines production planning, inventory control, dispatch coordination and team leadership while upholding health, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate and promote Zero Injuries safety culture; report and investigate incidents, near‑misses and hazards.
• Coordinate and supervise daily activities of frontline operational staff, set priorities and allocate resources.
• Develop and manage production plans based on sales forecasts and inventory requirements.
• Monitor production performance against targets and maintain accurate data in JD Edwards (JDE).
• Coordinate product dispatch, liaise with transport providers and ensure correct documentation.
• Manage site inventories of consumables, create purchase requisitions and support supplier enquiries.
• Identify and implement improvements in safety, efficiency and productivity.
• Maintain effective relationships with employees, contractors, management and suppliers.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading production or manufacturing teams in an industrial environment.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Ability to plan, organise and monitor production and dispatch activities.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills to develop workforce capability.

Required skills

• JD Edwards (JDE) ERP system proficiency
