Production Planner

About the role

The Production Planner will report to the Planning Manager and be responsible for managing production plans for selected Hynds production units. The role focuses on maximising product availability for customers while optimising the use of plant resources and ensuring efficient scheduling.

Key responsibilities

• Provide product availability estimates for sales enquiries, covering both standard and non‑standard products.
• Alert relevant parties when delivery dates are at risk of being missed.
• Investigate production compliance issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Prepare weekly firm schedules (1‑2 weeks ahead) for each work centre and ensure they are distributed to the appropriate factories.
• Participate in communication meetings with manufacturing and sales teams, ensuring assigned tasks are completed.
• Identify opportunities to reduce inventory surpluses through alternative substitution.

• Strong planning and organisational abilities to coordinate resources, schedules, and workflows.
• High attention to detail for accurate costings, technical data, and supporting documentation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset to interpret production and inventory data.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt plans in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
