Production Manager

About the role

Vessev is building hydrofoiling electric vessels in New Zealand and needs a Production Manager to lead the manufacturing operation through rapid growth. You will turn chaos into order, ensuring boats are built to the highest standards of performance, reliability and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee daily vessel production and technology package delivery.
• Lead specialised teams of boat builders, machinists, mechanical and electrical technicians to meet tight deadlines.
• Manage procurement, inventory and resource allocation to keep material flow uninterrupted.
• Collaborate with engineering, design and sales to align production priorities.
• Drive multi‑disciplinary R&D and product development projects, integrating new technologies.
• Monitor production KPIs, identify cost‑reduction opportunities and optimise workflows.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and maritime regulations.
• Maintain accurate production and quality documentation, lead toolbox meetings and safety inspections.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading manufacturing teams in a high‑tech or marine environment.
• Strong background in production planning, scheduling and resource management.
• Experience coordinating procurement, inventory and cross‑functional projects.
• Ability to communicate progress, risks and operational issues to stakeholders.
• Commitment to quality, safety and regulatory compliance.
