Producer/Reporter for Ryan Bridge TODAY

About the role
NZME is seeking an inquisitive, energetic Producer/Reporter to join the Ryan Bridge TODAY team, a fast‑moving weekday morning video news show. You will help keep the programme fresh, relevant and compelling across digital, streaming and future TV platforms.
Key responsibilities
- Scan the daily news agenda, pitch interview ideas and chase talent.
- Research interview topics, prepare briefing notes and suggest questions.
- Produce and brief presenters, interviewees and production teams.
- Report live or pre‑recorded segments when news breaks.
- Collaborate with editors on b‑roll, graphics and other visual elements.
- Identify fresh angles from interviews and develop follow‑up stories, written pieces and supporting visuals.
- Work quickly to manage competing priorities and shifting deadlines.
Required profile
- Strong news judgement and curiosity about local and international events.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative newsroom.
- Comfortable operating in live and pre‑recorded video environments.
- Clear communication and organisational skills.
Required skills
- Video production instincts for visually engaging content.
- Understanding of multiplatform storytelling (video, written articles, social).
