Procurement Portfolio Manager

About the role

Babcock is seeking a Procurement Portfolio Manager to lead its procurement function in Devonport, Auckland. This senior leadership position drives supply‑chain planning across multiple programmes, shaping strategy, systems and teams to deliver integrated procurement, inventory and planning outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute procurement strategy aligned with business priorities.
• Lead supplier relationship and performance management to improve cost, quality and continuity.
• Oversee inventory optimisation and MRP system implementation.
• Influence commercial decisions and negotiate contracts at executive level.
• Identify and mitigate supply‑chain risks, ensuring scalable planning frameworks.
• Mentor senior professionals and build high‑performing teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a supply‑chain leader in complex, high‑stakes environments.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to balance operational and strategic demands.
• Data‑driven decision‑making and proactive risk management.
• Excellent stakeholder management across functions and suppliers.
