Procurement Manager

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Supply Chain Officer, the Procurement Manager will lead the end‑to‑end sourcing function for a leading New Zealand chocolate brand. The role combines strategic sourcing, supplier partnership development and operational excellence across global raw‑material categories.

Key responsibilities

• Developing and executing global sourcing strategies across key raw material categories.
• Leading commercial negotiations with international suppliers and manufacturers.
• Building long‑term supplier partnerships and driving supplier performance.
• Travelling internationally to visit suppliers, farming communities and manufacturing partners.
• Supporting the Quality team with supplier audits and assurance activities.
• Monitoring global commodity markets to identify opportunities and supply risks.
• Providing procurement reporting, insights and recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team and Board.
• Managing procurement governance, ERP data integrity and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Leading and developing the procurement team and fostering cross‑functional relationships with Planning, Manufacturing, Finance, Quality and NPD.

Required profile

• Proven procurement leadership experience in manufacturing, FMCG or similarly complex environments.
• Strong strategic sourcing and category management capability.
• Exceptional commercial negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Experience managing global suppliers and complex supply chains.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to balance long‑term strategy and operational delivery.
• Experience presenting procurement insights to senior executives.
• Knowledge of ethical sourcing, supplier risk management, ESG and Modern Slavery legislation.
• Collaborative leadership style with influence across all business levels.
