Procurement Business Partner – Auckland

About the role

The Materials and Management Department (MMD) is seeking a Procurement Business Partner to join its Pacific Area Office in Auckland. This permanent, full-time role reports to the Area Purchasing Manager and supports the Church’s mission by managing purchasing activities across the assigned region.

Key responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end purchasing requests, from sourcing to delivery, including price analysis and vendor evaluation.
• Negotiate pricing and contractual terms, preparing all required procurement documentation.
• Provide specialised procurement support and advice to internal requesters.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and partners to ensure high performance and satisfaction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with at least two years of procurement or purchasing experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of effective purchasing and sourcing principles.
• Strong negotiation ability to achieve best-value outcomes.
• Customer-service focus and ability to build effective internal and external relationships.
• High professionalism, integrity, and sound judgement aligned with Church values.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for up to two weeks when required.
• Legal right to work in New Zealand; a police background check may be required.
