About the role
The Materials and Management Department is seeking a Procurement Business Partner to join the Pacific Area Office in Auckland. This permanent, full‑time position reports to the Area Purchasing Manager and supports the mission of the Church by managing purchasing activities across the assigned region.
Key responsibilities
- Manage end‑to‑end purchasing requests from sourcing through delivery, including price analysis and vendor evaluations.
- Negotiate pricing and contractual terms, completing all required procurement documentation.
- Provide technical and specialised procurement support to internal requesters.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and partners to ensure high performance and satisfaction.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of procurement or purchasing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of effective purchasing and sourcing principles.
- Strong negotiation skills with a focus on best‑value outcomes.
- Customer‑service orientation and ability to build effective internal and external relationships.
- High professionalism, integrity, and sound judgement aligned with Church values.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally for up to two weeks when required.
- Proof of legal right to work in New Zealand; a police background check may be required.
