Processing Officer (Permanent Part‑time)

About the role

The Processing Officer joins NZ Post’s Hamilton‑Waikato Operations Centre to sort, consolidate and dispatch parcels and freight for nationwide delivery. Working night shifts, you will help keep the flow of parcels moving efficiently for our couriers.

Key responsibilities

• Sort incoming parcels and freight according to destination and priority.
• Consolidate items into dispatch loads for overnight courier pickup.
• Operate sorting equipment and ensure safe handling of packages up to 25 kg.
• Maintain accurate records of processed items and report any discrepancies.
• Adhere to health, safety and security procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Available to work the specified night shift schedule (Sunday 9 pm‑5:30 am, Monday and Friday 10 pm‑4:30 am).
• Reliable transport to reach the work site.
• Physical stamina to lift up to 25 kg and stand for extended periods.
• Attention to detail and good geographical knowledge.
• Commitment to teamwork and a safe workplace.
