Plant Manager – Beverage Can

About the role

Visy is seeking a Plant Manager to lead its Beverage Can operations at the Wiri site in New Zealand. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be accountable for safety, people, production, quality, cost and service performance across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing site leadership and operations team.
• Drive a safety‑first culture and ensure full HSE compliance.
• Deliver production, quality and service outcomes aligned to customer demand.
• Own site financial performance, including cost, productivity and margin delivery.
• Optimise plant efficiency, reliability and asset utilisation.
• Lead continuous improvement and Lean initiatives across the operation.
• Partner with Sales and Supply Chain to achieve strong customer outcomes.
• Provide clear reporting, forecasting and performance insights to stakeholders.
• Build capability, engagement and accountability across the workforce.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Plant Manager or senior manufacturing operations leader.
• Full P&L ownership with accountability for cost, margin and site performance.
• Strong background in high‑volume manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Strong commercial acumen and safety‑leadership mindset.
• Track record in continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
