Pipeline Mechanical Technician – Northland/Auckland

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position is for a Pipeline Mechanical Technician covering the Northern region of New Zealand, from South Auckland to Whangarei. You will work outdoors on pipelines, liaising with the farming community and supporting installation, maintenance and commissioning activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pipeline easement maintenance and support installation projects.
• Assist with site operations including pigging, commissioning and testing.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors and stakeholders to ensure safe pipeline operations.
• Monitor and manage contractor activities at various locations.
• Collect site data for teams operating outside the Northern region.
• Participate in an on‑call roster as required.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical background with a Trade qualification or Gas Transmission certification.
• Good understanding of P&IDs and isolation procedures.
• Proven track record in health, safety and environment (HSE) compliance.
• Legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
