About the role
The Antarctic Research Centre invites applications for full‑time PhD projects focused on glaciology, sea‑ice ecology and climate science. Candidates will join a leading research team studying the Antarctic cryosphere and its global impacts.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct field‑based research on glacier mass balance, sea‑ice microalgal diversity and Southern Hemisphere climate dynamics.
- Analyse process‑scale physical data and link it to regional climate models.
- Collaborate with supervisors and international partners on interdisciplinary projects.
- Prepare scientific reports, publications and present findings at conferences.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., geosciences, climate science, glaciology).
- Strong interest in Antarctic research and cryospheric processes.
- Ability to work in remote field environments and handle logistical challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
