Pharmacy Technician Tutor

About the role

New Zealand Management Academies (NZMA) is New Zealand's largest private training establishment offering vocational courses and qualifications. It is hiring a Pharmacy Technician Tutor for its Auckland Central campus, a permanent part-time position of 16 hours per week, ideally split between Monday and Tuesday with some flexibility to move one day to another weekday. The tutor uses New Zealand pharmacy experience to prepare future Pharmacy Technicians for their careers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver practical, engaging on-campus learning about community pharmacy and pharmaceutical practice.
• Help students build confidence in pharmacy retail operations, professional conduct, customer service, patient communication and giving accurate health advice.
• Create a supportive, hands-on learning environment.

Required profile

• Either an experienced Pharmacy Technician with a NZ Certificate in Pharmacy Technician Level 5 or NZ Diploma in Pharmacy Technician (Specialist) Level 6, or a New Zealand Registered Pharmacist.
• Proven pharmacy industry experience in New Zealand.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to connect with and support students from diverse backgrounds.
• Teaching experience is an advantage but not essential; comprehensive training and teaching tools are provided to help gain adult teaching qualifications.
