PB4L Schoolwide Practitioner

About the role

We are seeking a permanent, full‑time Schoolwide Practitioner to join our regional office in Porirua. The role supports educators across the Greater Wellington region to implement the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) School‑Wide framework with fidelity and provides high‑quality special‑education services aligned with Te Whaariki, Ka Hikitia and the New Zealand Curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Train and coach teachers and school staff on the PB4L framework and ensure consistent national implementation.
• Deliver special‑education support to schools, learners, families and caregivers.
• Collaborate with education partners to advance attendance, achievement and learning‑support initiatives.
• Use data and insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Build and maintain relationships with schools, local agencies and community groups.

Required profile

• Experience in the schooling sector and knowledge of relevant legislation.
• Tertiary qualification in education, psychology or a related discipline (e.g., Special Education).
• Understanding of child development, learning and behaviour.
• Proven experience in classroom or relevant settings, including work with students with special needs.
• Ability to apply inclusive and ecological assessment and intervention frameworks.
• Strong data‑driven decision‑making skills.
