Payroll/HR Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an HR/Payroll Specialist to join our Christchurch Engine Centre team on a full‑time permanent basis. You will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while supporting broader HR operations as we transition to a global shared services model.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain payroll system and time‑and‑attendance data accuracy, meeting all processing deadlines.
• Liaise with Global Financial Services and Production Leaders to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
• Process superannuation and IRD transactions, and prepare third‑party deduction reports.
• Respond to payroll enquiries, maintain audit records, and manage legislation updates.
• Lead payroll system optimisation projects and support HR analytics reporting.
• Ensure HRIS and SAP data are kept up‑to‑date.
• Manage accounts payable for the HR function and assist with the transition to shared services.
• Support DAMP coordination, injury/illness assistance, and new‑hire/exit processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business, human resources or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Experience working with payroll and HR processes in a large or global organisation.
