Part‑time SEO & AI Search Manager

About the role

Insight Online is seeking a part‑time SEO Manager to lead organic and AI‑driven search strategy for a portfolio of New Zealand service businesses. Working 20 hours per week from our Auckland office, you will own the 12‑month roadmap and deliver measurable growth alongside the Head of Organic and the Account Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute 12‑month SEO and AI‑optimisation (AIO) strategies and 90‑day implementation plans for each client.
• Act as the trusted SEO voice for clients, communicating strategy, performance and next steps.
• Maintain and improve the technical health of client websites.
• Develop content and AI‑answer optimisation to secure visibility in classic search and emerging AI results.
• Analyse ranking and traffic shifts, produce performance reports and actionable recommendations.
• Coordinate delivery through off‑site SEO consultants and partners, ensuring quality and timeliness.

Required profile

• Minimum six years of hands‑on SEO experience with a proven record of strategy ownership and organic growth.
• Strong technical and content‑focused SEO expertise combined with genuine curiosity about AI‑driven search.
• Excellent communication skills to explain strategy and results to clients.
• Self‑directed, reliable and able to manage a portfolio independently.
• Honesty, humility and a collaborative mindset suitable for a small senior team.
