Part‑Time Food & Beverage Attendant – Luxury Hotel

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time Food & Beverage Attendant to join the team at Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour. The role focuses on delivering seamless, high‑end service in our café and restaurant, ensuring every guest enjoys a refined dining experience that reflects the hotel’s French‑inspired luxury.

Key responsibilities

• Manage opening and closing procedures for the café and restaurant.
• Take orders, suggest menu items and maximise sales through product knowledge.
• Accurately repeat orders and ensure clear docket writing for kitchen and bar staff.
• Operate the POS system to process orders and payments.
• Deliver meals promptly, checking temperature and presentation before serving.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tables, service areas and side stations.
• Provide high‑standard service, announcing dishes and attending to guest needs.
• Uphold hygienic food‑service techniques throughout the shift.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in a 5‑star luxury hotel or fine‑dining environment.
• Previous experience in breakfast, dinner service and banqueting.
• Barista and café‑style service experience.
• Knowledge of gastronomy and beverage preparation.
• Strong presentation and organisational abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with POS (Point of Sale) systems.
• Familiarity with Infrasys (advantageous).
• Barista skills for coffee preparation.
