Packhouse Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Packhouse Manager to lead the Whakatu site in Hastings. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will oversee all packhouse shifts, ensuring safe, efficient and high‑performing operations that deliver premium apples to more than 55 countries.

Key responsibilities

• Lead packhouse operations across all shifts, establishing strong operational rhythm and accountability.
• Drive safety, quality, throughput, efficiency and cost performance.
• Coach and develop Team Leaders and emerging site leaders.
• Implement continuous‑improvement and optimisation initiatives.
• Build cross‑functional relationships and support strategic transformation while maintaining day‑to‑day delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large operational or production teams in manufacturing, food processing, packhouse or similar environments.
• Ability to make decisions under pressure, lead from the floor and foster a high‑performance team culture.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Capacity to balance operational delivery with strategic thinking.
