Packaging Technician – Brewery Production

About the role

DB Breweries is seeking a detail‑focused Packaging Technician to ensure beer, cider and ready‑to‑drink beverages leave the line at the right quality. The role is hands‑on, fast‑paced and part of the Supply Chain team at the Waitemata Brewery in Auckland.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and improve packaging machinery to meet production targets.
• Ensure products comply with quality and safety standards.
• Participate in TPM Continuous Improvement programmes using 5S, Kaizen and other tools.
• Carry out reactive and preventive maintenance tasks on schedule.
• Collaborate with planning, maintenance and logistics to keep operations running smoothly.
• Follow and update Standard Operating Procedures and support team training.
• Flexibly move across different areas as required.

Required profile

• Mechanical or electrical trade qualification (NZCE, Advanced Trade Certificate or equivalent).
• 3–5 years experience in packaging or maintenance within brewing, FMCG or food & beverage environments.
• Experience using maintenance management systems and continuous‑improvement practices.
• Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills.
• Positive, team‑focused attitude and willingness to learn and share knowledge.
