Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

Zimmer Biomet is seeking an Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist to support surgeons in theatres across hospitals in Invercargill or Queenstown. The role focuses on instrument‑ and robotic‑assisted procedures, promoting the company’s product portfolio and digital platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during instrument and robotic‑assisted orthopaedic surgeries.
• Manage and prepare surgical equipment for each case, ensuring optimal use of the ROSA® surgical robot and mymobility® digital platform.
• Troubleshoot and maintain medical technology equipment.
• Provide in‑service training and ongoing support to hospital staff on ROSA® and the full Zimmer Biomet product range.
• Stay current with emerging surgical techniques and incorporate them into training sessions.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy, Osteopathy, Nursing, Paramedicine or Sports/Exercise Science.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the medical device or orthopaedic industry.
• Strong passion for health, anatomy and advancing medical technologies.
• Detail‑oriented, positive attitude and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Extensive knowledge of anatomy, kinematics and surgical workflows.

Required skills

• Operation of the ROSA® surgical robot.
• Use of the mymobility® digital platform.
• Medical equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
