About the role
Join Pāmu’s expanding horticulture team and work outdoors in the stunning Bay of Islands region. As an Orchard Assistant you will support the daily operations of a 70‑hectare avocado orchard, gaining hands‑on experience in orchard management and fruit production.
Key responsibilities
- Perform mowing and spraying to keep the orchard tidy and protected.
- Apply fungicides and insecticides according to schedule to safeguard tree health.
- Assist with pruning activities to promote optimal growth and yield.
- Support irrigation and fertigation systems, ensuring proper water and nutrient delivery.
- Participate in harvesting operations during picking seasons.
Required profile
- Passionate and reliable, with a strong work ethic for physically demanding outdoor tasks.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and follow detailed instructions.
- Valid New Zealand driver’s licence.
- Legal right to work permanently in New Zealand.
