Operations Planner

About the role

Ngāti Tūwharetoa Geothermal Assets (NTGA) operates significant geothermal infrastructure in Kawerau, supplying steam and geothermal services to industrial customers, with interests in farming and forestry in the region. It is looking for an experienced Operations Planner to help keep its geothermal operations safe, efficient and reliable. The role sits at the heart of operations, connecting people, resources and priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage short, medium and long-term operational work plans.
• Coordinate planned maintenance, outages, inspections and field activities.
• Build fortnightly and monthly schedules, balancing changing priorities and operational requirements.
• Coordinate contractors, resources, permits and documentation so work keeps moving.
• Support asset management, lifecycle planning and maintenance programmes.
• Track operational, maintenance, safety and compliance KPIs.
• Maintain planning dashboards and give clear visibility of upcoming work.
• Communicate outage and maintenance plans with customers and key stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve planning, reliability and operational performance.

Required profile

• Ideally experience in maintenance or operations planning and scheduling.
• A relevant qualification in engineering, operations, maintenance planning, asset management or project management, or equivalent experience.
• Strong organisational, prioritisation and coordination skills.
• Understanding of asset management principles.
• Confidence working with Microsoft Office and planning systems.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across operations, contractors and customers.
• Current full New Zealand driver's licence.
• Experience in geothermal, utilities, energy, industrial processing or heavy industry is highly regarded.
