Operations Manager – Construction & Coatings

About the role

We are looking for an Operations Manager to lead the delivery of passive fire protection, intumescent and protective coating projects for our Lower North Island team. The role blends operational leadership, commercial oversight and client management to ensure projects are completed safely, on time and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the successful delivery of passive fire, intumescent and protective coating projects across commercial and industrial sites.
• Provide day‑to‑day leadership to site teams, coordinating subcontractors and client stakeholders.
• Manage resource planning, quality assurance and health & safety compliance.
• Support commercial performance through budgeting, forecasting, variation management and cost control.
• Maintain strong client relationships and identify business growth opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven leadership and people‑management experience in construction or related fields.
• Strong organisational and planning abilities.
• Commercial awareness including budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑management skills.
• Safety‑conscious mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
