Onsite AV & Infrastructure Support Technician – Wellington

About the role

EIL Global is seeking an Onsite AV & Infrastructure Support Technician to deliver first‑level support for client offices in Wellington and surrounding areas. The role operates under two models – resident technicians dedicated to a specific site and dispatch technicians who travel to locations on demand.

Key responsibilities

• Provide onsite assistance for conference rooms, focus rooms, board rooms and multi‑purpose spaces when issues cannot be resolved remotely.
• Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot AV equipment and video‑conferencing systems, including backup and replacement of faulty devices.
• Manage incident tickets, classify and resolve issues within a 3‑hour SLA after arrival, and escalate complex problems to higher‑tier support or OEMs.
• Handle warranty repairs, RMAs and equipment decommissioning in line with client recycling processes.
• Maintain accurate inventory records for all AV assets in the MRCDP system.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in AV, end‑user computing or infrastructure support.
• Ability to work both as a resident back‑fill technician and as a dispatch technician on short notice.
• Possession of a valid client‑issued badge and willingness to use client‑provided tools and PowerApps.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with AV equipment, video‑conferencing platforms and meeting‑room technology.
• Basic networking knowledge (cable testing, USB‑to‑RJ45 console connections).
• Proficiency with standard toolkits: rechargeable screwdriver set, cable cutters, pliers, patch cords, cable ties/Velcro.
• Familiarity with mobile operating systems – iOS 14+ and Android 14+.
• Use of USB flash drives (≥32 GB) for data transfer and diagnostics.
• Experience with inventory management and RMA processes.
