Oncology Registered Nurse – 0.4 FTE (Invercargill)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse to join the Mercy Cancer Care team at our oncology clinic in Invercargill. This permanent 0.4 FTE position provides on‑site, evidence‑based nursing care and supports local chemotherapy delivery, reducing the need for patients to travel to Dunedin.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver optimum patient care in line with Mercy Hospital’s purpose and values.
• Maintain a current Nursing Council of New Zealand practising certificate.
• Provide patient‑centred care based on comprehensive assessments.
• Comply with all relevant nursing legislation, policies and regulations.
• Manage resources efficiently to meet patient health‑care needs.
• Travel to Mercy Cancer Care in Dunedin for orientation and ongoing training as required.

Required profile

• Previous oncology nursing experience with a patient‑centric approach.
• Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current practising certificate.
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage priorities.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• High self‑motivation, professionalism and a proactive, flexible attitude.
• Willingness to provide vaccination history for employment.
