About the role
This hands‑on Office Manager position is responsible for the day‑to‑day running of a construction office while handling core financial administration functions. You will own invoicing, debtor and creditor management, payroll support and financial reporting, and work closely with management to improve workflows and adopt automation tools.
Key responsibilities
- Manage daily office operations and ensure smooth administrative processes.
- Prepare and process project‑based invoices and manage subcontractor billing.
- Oversee debtor and creditor accounts, including ageing control and reduction of overdue debt.
- Provide payroll support using the company’s payroll system.
- Produce accurate financial reports, including profit and loss statements.
- Identify and implement workflow improvements and automation opportunities.
- Collaborate with leadership and operational teams to drive efficiency.
Required profile
- Proven experience as an Office Manager, Accounts Administrator or similar role.
- Strong background in the construction industry, familiar with project‑based invoicing and subcontractor workflows.
- High proficiency in MYOB and Xero accounting software.
- Experience with payroll systems such as Crystal Payroll or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage debtor control and reduce aged debt.
- Good grasp of profit and loss reporting and financial performance drivers.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Confident communication, especially when handling overdue accounts.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and eager to leverage automation and AI tools.
