Ocean Freight Operations Coordinator - Transport

About the role

Toll Group is seeking an organised, customer‑focused Ocean Freight Operations Coordinator – Transport to manage the seamless movement of import and domestic ocean freight across New Zealand. You will work closely with customers, shipping lines, customs brokers, transport providers and internal teams to ensure shipments are handled efficiently and documentation is accurate.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate import and domestic ocean freight shipments from booking through to delivery.
• Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers and transport providers.
• Monitor shipment progress and provide timely updates to customers and stakeholders.
• Arrange local transport and warehouse activities to support cargo movements.
• Support invoicing, cost entry and general operational administration.

Required profile

• Experience in freight forwarding, ocean freight operations or logistics administration.
• Relevant logistics or supply‑chain qualifications are advantageous.
• Understanding of import processes and knowledge of customs and maritime regulations.
• Experience working with freight management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Customer‑focused mindset with a proactive approach to learning.
