Nurse Unit Manager – Acute Hospital & Aged Care

About the role

We are looking for a Nurse Unit Manager to lead the clinical team at our Rainbow facility, which includes an acute hospital and a residential aged‑care unit. The role can be full‑time (80 hours per fortnight) or part‑time, reporting to the Director of Nursing.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure delivery of high‑quality health services across acute and aged‑care settings.
• Drive continuous improvement in service delivery and patient outcomes.
• Oversee supervisory duties, managing Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Health Care Workers.
• Coordinate resident and patient assessment, documentation and compliance with accreditation standards.
• Maintain alignment with legislative obligations such as EEO, disability services and occupational health and safety.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Strong leadership, written and oral communication, negotiation and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Understanding of electronic documentation systems and aged‑care funding tools.
• Commitment to quality improvement and familiarity with Aged Care Quality Standards and National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation (EEO, disability services, OHS).
• Qualifications in management or a related postgraduate degree are desirable.
• Pre‑requirements: NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, Working with Children Check, full vaccination (including influenza) and a valid Australian driver’s licence.
