Nurse Practitioner – Acute Care Clinic

About the role

The Nurse Practitioner will deliver comprehensive patient care in our Acute Care clinic, conducting autonomous assessments, diagnoses, treatments, screenings and prescribing medications. You will work alongside GPs, experienced nurses and an administrative team in a supportive, modern medical centre.

Key responsibilities

• Perform independent patient assessments, diagnoses, treatments and screenings.
• Prescribe medications and provide personalized health advice.
• Care for a diverse patient population across all age groups.
• Collaborate with GPs, nurses, administration and the Medical Centre Manager.
• Support sub‑specialties and participate in training initiatives.
• Contribute to improving healthcare access for the practice population.

Required profile

• Current registration with the NZNC as a Nurse Practitioner and a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
• Alignment with the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
• Prior experience in a medical centre (advantageous).
• Strong commitment to primary health care and improving community access.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physically fit, confident, friendly and approachable.
• NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit.
