Nurse Manager – Clinical Leadership (Full-time)

About the role

The Nurse Manager will provide day‑to‑day clinical and staff leadership within a defined unit of our hospital‑level disability service. This full‑time, permanent position supports adults with complex neurological, physical, rehabilitation and long‑term care needs, ensuring safe and person‑centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Lead nursing and support staff in the allocated area, reporting to the Clinical Services Manager.
• Oversee care plans, risk plans, medication charts and documentation to maintain high standards of care.
• Coordinate admissions, discharges and transitions with the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Monitor incidents, infections and routine quality indicators, escalating issues as required.
• Support staff orientation, supervision, performance and roster coverage, ensuring appropriate skill mix.
• Assist with staffing and clinical issue escalation, maintaining a safe environment.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand APC registration.
• Minimum five years of RN experience, including senior RN, Team Leader or Acting Nurse Manager roles.
• Proven ability to support staff in complex care environments.
• Organised, calm and practical leadership style.
• Experience in disability, rehabilitation or hospital‑level residential care is an advantage.
