Night Manager

About the role

Movenpick Queenstown, part of Accor, is looking for a Night Manager to oversee all hotel operations during the night. The role is guaranteed 30 hours per week at $32.59 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all hotel operations during the night as the manager on duty
• Manage the night audit process, including financial reconciliation and reporting
• Handle front desk operations: check-ins, check-outs, guest requests and complaints
• Ensure accuracy of postings, room rates and accounts in Opera
• Conduct regular security walks and ensure the safety of guests, staff and property
• Perform light cleaning and keep public areas well maintained
• Assist with guest needs, including luggage and late arrivals
• Identify and report maintenance or safety issues
• Prepare reports and ensure a smooth handover to the morning team
• Collaborate with other departments on discrepancies, support the front desk with admin tasks and support basic housekeeping

Required profile

• Liquor license controller qualification and Duty Manager Certificate required
• Previous experience in hotel front office operations, ideally as Night Manager or similar
• Ability to work independently and make decisions during overnight shifts
• Flexible with overnight shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Physically capable of light cleaning and porter duties; reliable, responsible and security aware

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Opera PMS and hotel systems is advantageous
• Good computer skills, including Excel and general system use
• Strong attention to detail, especially with financial reconciliation
• Problem-solving, decision-making, time management and multitasking
