Night Manager

About the role

The Night Manager will lead the front desk and night‑lobby operations during the overnight shift, ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for guests. This position reports to the Front Office Manager and works closely with night portering staff and other hotel departments.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise night portering personnel and manage late arrivals and early departures, following check‑in/check‑out procedures.
• Operate the Property Management System (PMS), run reports, and prepare statistical information for finance.
• Maintain security, respond to emergencies, and handle guest concerns in line with hotel policies.
• Oversee night lobby services, including car‑parking, wake‑up calls, newspaper ordering, and cleanliness of back‑of‑house areas.
• Monitor room availability, manage over‑booking situations, and coordinate relocations when needed.
• Complete computer system backups and forward maintenance requests to the appropriate shift manager.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently during night hours.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Ability to handle confidential information and follow emergency procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a Property Management System (PMS).
• Experience in generating reports and handling basic computer backups.
