News Producer – Breakfast Show

About the role
The Breakfast show needs a dynamic News Producer to create compelling, accurate and balanced news bulletins each morning. Reporting to the News Editor, you will lead a team of producers, reporters and presenters, delivering high‑quality content across broadcast and digital platforms.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the on‑air broadcast of Breakfast news bulletins, adjusting timing for breaking stories or technical issues.
- Identify and shape the day’s biggest stories for a morning audience.
- Collaborate with Planning Producer, Senior Set‑Up Producer and Executive Producer to ensure seamless production.
- Maintain editorial standards, legal compliance and refer contentious issues to senior editorial leadership.
- Write, edit and subtitle rundowns for half‑hourly news segments.
Required profile
- Strong experience in broadcast journalism and production.
- Excellent verbal and written communication with high‑level decision‑making ability.
- Proven organisational and project‑management skills, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Solid knowledge of media law and editorial best practices.
- Ability to guide presenters and staff, fostering trust and teamwork.
