Nerve Centre Operator

About the role

We are looking for a Nerve Centre Operator to provide monitoring and coordination support for our water supply and wastewater operations. Based in a state‑of‑the‑art Nerve Centre, you will work with evolving technology to ensure high‑performing operations and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor data from SCADA systems and escalate issues appropriately.
• Provide a monitoring service for people, assets and security systems.
• Maintain effective communication between operating components of the business unit.
• Ensure data capture and recording meet operational and control requirements.
• Manually update data in case of system failure.
• Receive and respond to telephone calls from staff, contractors and escalations.
• Operate radio equipment to contact staff or manage emergencies.
• Coordinate work schedules and liaise with maintenance contractors.

Required profile

• Experience using computerized database systems, particularly SCADA.
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication abilities.
• Detail‑oriented with strong prioritisation skills.
• Background in a technical environment such as trade, engineering or technical operations.
• At least three years’ experience in a process or production control environment.
• Willingness to work shifts on a 24/7 roster and provide on‑call support.
