About the role

Join Hutt City Council as a Neighbourhood Facilitator and help shape thriving, connected communities across the city. This full‑time, fixed‑term position runs until June 2027 and offers hybrid working options to support work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with community members, council teams and external agencies to co‑create neighbourhood development plans.
• Gather local insights, identify strengths and understand community needs and aspirations.
• Facilitate the formation and strengthening of neighbourhood networks.
• Empower residents to work together toward shared goals and wellbeing outcomes.
• Lead a holistic, council‑wide approach to community‑led development.

Required profile

• Proven experience in community‑led development and a strong understanding of local assets.
• Commitment to embedding te ao Māori values and practices.
• Excellent engagement skills with the ability to collaborate across council and community.
• Adaptability when working with diverse backgrounds.
• Confidence in influencing stakeholders and decision‑makers.
