Naval Architect Intern

About the role
This 12‑week paid internship is aimed at penultimate‑year students studying Naval Architecture. Based at Devonport Naval Base, you will work on real projects, collaborate with experienced engineers and gain hands‑on exposure to the tools and challenges of the defence sector.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in active ship design and analysis projects.
- Support senior engineers with data collection, modelling and documentation.
- Attend technical meetings and contribute ideas to problem‑solving sessions.
- Prepare reports and presentations on project progress.
Required profile
- Enrolled in a university degree in Naval Architecture (penultimate year).
- Eligible for a New Zealand Defence Force security clearance.
- Strong communication skills and ability to prioritise workload.
- Adaptable to a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
