Nature Guide – Te Anau Glowworm Caves

About the role
Join RealNZ as a Nature Guide for the iconic Te Anau Glowworm Caves. You will be the storyteller who brings New Zealand’s unique flora, fauna and geology to life, delivering memorable tours for visitors until the end of the summer season in April 2026.
Key responsibilities
- Lead groups safely through the glowworm caves and surrounding landscapes.
- Provide engaging, accurate commentary on native ecosystems and geological features.
- Greet guests warmly, ensure a high level of service throughout the experience, and bid farewell with a smile.
- Maintain clean and safe service areas, monitor conditions such as high water, and support risk‑planning decisions.
- Collaborate with the safety team to uphold the highest standards of visitor safety.
Required profile
- Passion for the outdoors and a genuine enthusiasm for sharing knowledge.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive, positive attitude.
- Ability to engage diverse groups of visitors.
- Current First Aid certificate preferred.
- Previous experience in cave guiding, nature guiding or a closely related field.
Required skills
- First Aid certification.
- Proficient in safe cave navigation and risk assessment.
- Solid knowledge of New Zealand native flora, fauna and geology.
