Multi-skilled Construction Operator

About the role

Join Higgins' Green Team in Hawke’s Bay as a multi‑skilled Operator, working on a variety of plant and civil construction projects. You’ll operate heavy equipment and support the crew with labouring tasks while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Operate excavator, bulldozer, roller, loader, watercart, broom and bobcat on construction and roading sites.
• Assist with general labour duties when required.
• Maintain site safety for yourself, teammates and the public.
• Perform basic computer‑based reporting and documentation.

Required profile

• Full Class 1 driver licence with WTR certification (Class 2‑4 advantageous).
• Proven operating experience in construction or roading environments.
• Hands‑on attitude, reliable and flexible to work in all weather conditions.
• Fit for work – able to pass pre‑employment drug, alcohol and health checks.
