Merchandise Commercial Manager

About the role

As the Merchandise Commercial Manager you will lead a team of Commercial Analysts delivering financial insight, modelling and commercial recommendations that shape key decisions across the Merchandise function. Reporting to the Head of Merchandise – Commercial, you will influence category strategy, commercial decision‑making and cost‑to‑serve analysis while fostering a high‑performing, collaborative team culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the commercial side of the category review process, identifying opportunities and achieving targeted financial outcomes.
• Influence senior stakeholders with robust analysis, clear insights and actionable recommendations.
• Develop and continuously improve reporting tools, frameworks and AI‑enabled insight capabilities.
• Build trusted relationships across Merchandise, Finance and the wider business to align on commercial objectives.

Required profile

• Commercially minded leader comfortable with both strategic conversations and detailed analysis.
• Ability to translate complex data into practical insights and support informed decision‑making.
• CA qualification (or equivalent) and a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Proven experience leading and developing high‑performing teams in a commercial, finance or business‑partnering environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of analysing performance and identifying growth opportunities.
