Mentoring Coordinator

About the role

The Mentoring Coordinator will work directly with some of Aotearoa’s most vulnerable and often unseen groups – children and young people whose families are in prison. This full‑time, on‑site position offers a varied day‑to‑day experience within a purpose‑driven organisation committed to community wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and oversee mentoring programmes for tamariki and rangatahi with incarcerated whanau.
• Coordinate volunteer mentors, matching them with participants and providing ongoing support.
• Facilitate workshops, group sessions and one‑to‑one mentoring activities.
• Monitor programme outcomes, collect feedback and produce regular reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with partner agencies, correctional facilities and community groups to enhance service delivery.

Required profile

• Passion for supporting vulnerable youth and families.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Experience working in community services, youth work or volunteer coordination is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
