Mechanical Engineer – Product Design & Development

About the role

Windcave is looking for a hands‑on Mechanical Engineer to join its product development team. The role is ideal for an intermediate‑level professional who can work independently while collaborating across hardware, software, test and production groups.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs from concept through to production for consumer and electronic products.
• Ensure designs meet stringent security and regulatory standards such as PCI PTS.
• Support Sales and Quality Assurance teams in understanding design performance.
• Produce detailed documentation, specifications, drawings, BOMs and test fixtures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of R&D experience in product design.
• Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage time, documentation and project priorities effectively.

Required skills

• High‑level proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience designing plastic housings and electronic assemblies.
• Knowledge of injection molding, die casting, sheet‑metal stamping and machining processes.
• Workshop skills for prototyping, mock‑ups and test jig creation.
