Mechanical Engineer – High‑Pressure Propulsion Systems

About the role

We are looking for a practical, driven Mechanical Engineer to develop and test high‑performance propulsion hardware, especially critical fluid components, for space‑bound satellites. The role is ideal for candidates with automotive, motorsport, hydraulics, refrigerants, pneumatics, heavy equipment or advanced manufacturing experience who enjoy hands‑on problem solving.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for high‑pressure thermo‑fluid systems, including valves, regulators, tanks, tubing and test equipment.
• Build, assemble, troubleshoot and improve prototype hardware.
• Develop and execute mechanical and fluid system tests, analyse failures and implement practical solutions.
• Support manufacturing and supplier engagement to ensure parts are robust and producible at scale.
• Collaborate with design, test, manufacturing and systems engineers as well as customers worldwide.
• Contribute to rapid iteration and continuous product improvement.

Required profile

• Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent practical industry experience.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and hands‑on engineering mindset.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑moving environment.
• Comfortable working in workshop and test environments.

Required skills

• CAD proficiency (SolidWorks or similar).
• Understanding of pressure systems, valves, fittings, tubing, pumps, regulators or fluid control systems.
• Experience with high‑pressure systems, refrigerants or vacuum systems.
• Test or reliability engineering, data acquisition and instrumentation.
• Simulation tools such as FEA or CFD.
• Coding for data analysis or test automation.
• Precision machining or manufacturing processes.
