Mechanical Apprentice – Engine Repair

About the role

Join Cummins as a Mechanical Apprentice and work under the guidance of a qualified Cummins Technician. You will learn to diagnose and repair a wide range of Cummins engines and related products while gaining hands‑on experience across automotive, industrial, marine and mining applications.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in diagnosing faults in Cummins engine systems.
• Perform repairs and component replacements under supervision.
• Rotate through regional departments to gain exposure to different engine product lines.
• Maintain a safe and organised workshop environment.
• Document work performed and support quality assurance processes.

Required profile

• Positive attitude with a strong eagerness to learn.
• Passion for working with Cummins products and the engineering industry.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and basic numeracy/literacy skills.
• Right to work in New Zealand and completion of Year 13 or equivalent.
• Willingness to work across regional sites and rotate through various departments.
• Commitment to safety, wellbeing and embracing workplace diversity.
