Marketing Adviser (6‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Faculty of Science at the University of Auckland is seeking a Marketing Adviser on a six‑month fixed‑term basis. You will work closely with academic and professional staff to create and deliver marketing and recruitment campaigns that showcase the faculty’s research, programmes and events. This role combines strategic planning with hands‑on execution across multiple channels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging marketing campaigns across digital, print and social media channels.
• Create compelling briefs and collaborate with creative and advertising partners.
• Support the promotion of programmes, events and faculty initiatives.
• Shape social media strategy and grow audience engagement.
• Coordinate photography, video and promotional content projects.
• Collaborate with university stakeholders to ensure clear, consistent and impactful messaging.
• Contribute fresh ideas and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Confident communicator who can translate complex information into clear, engaging content.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Highly organised with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.

Required skills

• Experience in marketing, communications, advertising or campaign delivery.
• Knowledge of digital marketing, social media and content creation.
• Experience working with agencies or external suppliers.

What we offer

• Full‑time (37.5 hrs/week) six‑month fixed‑term contract.
• Salary range $73,400‑$79,000 per annum (NZD).
