Manufacturing Operations Manager

About the role

Soteria Doors is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead the transformation of its bespoke fire‑door business. Reporting to the General Manager, you will drive Lean Manufacturing, improve productivity, develop the team and ensure on‑time delivery of high‑quality, custom‑made products.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day manufacturing operations and build a high‑performing team.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Plan and schedule production, manage inventory and material availability.
• Improve workflow, productivity and overall manufacturing efficiency.
• Oversee health & safety, standard operating procedures and quality management system.
• Monitor operational performance, KPIs and manufacturing costs, identifying improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ experience leading a manufacturing operation.
• Proven success implementing Lean Manufacturing with measurable results.
• Experience in a bespoke, custom or engineered‑to‑order manufacturing environment.
• Strong production planning and scheduling capability.
• Outstanding leadership and people‑development skills.
• Commercially minded with excellent problem‑solving ability.
• Legal right to work permanently in New Zealand.
