Manager – Business Advisory

About the role

nextAdvisory is a modern Auckland accounting and advisory firm focused on genuine SME clients. The Manager – Business Advisory leads a self‑managing team, oversees tax compliance, and delivers high‑value advisory projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and support the advisory team while managing workflow and priorities.
• Own the tax function – ensure IRD deadlines, obligations and GST compliance are met accurately.
• Perform quality control by reviewing team work to a high standard.
• Oversee preparation of annual accounts, GST returns, management reports and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Maintain direct client contact on delivered work.
• Execute advisory projects such as business valuations, acquisition due diligence, three‑way cash‑flow models and strategic business planning.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in a New Zealand CA firm environment.
• CA/CPA qualified or well progressed.
• Proven review experience with strong quality‑control capability.
• Solid technical grounding in NZ tax, GST and financial statements.
• High standard for accuracy and the judgement to hold the team to it.
• Confidence working autonomously and keeping team workflow on track.

What we offer
