Manager / Associate Director – Economics (Strategy Consulting)

About the role

Join Deloitte Access Economics' Strategy practice in Auckland as a Manager or Associate Director, working at the intersection of economics, analytics and technology to deliver high‑impact advice to Board and C‑suite clients across public and private sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Shape high‑impact economic and strategic advice that informs critical client decisions.
• Lead and deliver advanced economic modelling, forecasting, scenario analysis and data‑driven insights.
• Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously while maintaining exceptional quality.
• Own day‑to‑day client relationships, present findings and advise on next steps.
• Guide, coach and develop junior team members, setting high standards for delivery.
• Collaborate with specialists locally and globally, including across Deloitte Access Economics in Australia.

Required profile

• Deep experience in economic modelling and data analysis (hands‑on technical role).
• Post‑graduate qualification in economics, statistics, data science or a related discipline.
• Proven experience applying economic and analytical frameworks to real‑world strategy or policy questions.
• Consulting judgment, leadership presence and ability to work with senior stakeholders.

Required skills

• Economic modelling and forecasting.

• Proficiency with R, Python, Stata and EViews.
• Use of modern analytics tools and AI‑enabled approaches.
