Management Accountant

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accountant to step into a Management Accountant role within a large national not‑for‑profit organisation. You will deliver high‑quality financial management, reporting and advisory services across the organisation and its related entities, supporting senior decision‑making and business improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse monthly and year‑end financial statements, budgets and forecasts.
• Produce accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with tax legislation and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls and risk‑management processes.
• Liaise with external auditors, advisors and other stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and support organisational change.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Proven experience in monthly and year‑end processes, budgeting and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of tax compliance and relevant legislation.
• Experience with risk management and internal controls.
• Advanced analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
• Continuous improvement mindset.
• Experience in a not‑for‑profit or complex reporting environment is advantageous.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.
