Maintenance Technician – Parcel Processing

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our East Tamaki depot and keep our cutting‑edge parcel and letter sorting machinery running at peak performance. You will work in a fast‑moving environment, solving problems quickly and ensuring operational efficiency for New Zealand’s leading postal service.

Key responsibilities

• Service and maintain parcel and letter sorting equipment, ensuring it meets operational requirements.
• Perform fault finding, diagnose issues, and execute timely repairs.
• Carry out regular planned maintenance and preventative tasks.
• Support the team during breakdowns to minimise downtime.

Required profile

• Experience as a maintenance engineer, electrician or service technician (minimum 2 years).
• New Zealand Electrical Registration or Electrical Service Technician Registration (papers A & B) OR a Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• Positive, flexible attitude and ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to work a 4‑week rotational roster covering day, afternoon, night and weekend shifts.

Required skills

• Mechanical and electrical maintenance.
• Fault finding and troubleshooting.
• Control‑system knowledge or programming experience (desirable).
